Palen power

Liberals are foaming at the mouth with their hatred for Sarah Palin. Interestingly enough, the very thing about her that drives them insane is what makes conservatives like us love her. Take this for example:

When federal judges in San Francisco ruled in 2002 that reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools was unconstitutional because it included the phrase "under God," Sarah Palin was not amused. Palin, who at the time was Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, quickly drafted a terse letter to the editor of a San Francisco newspaper.

"Dear Editor," Palin wrote in 2002. "San Francisco judges forbidding our Pledge of Allegiance? They will take the phrase 'under God' away from me when my cold, dead lips can no longer utter those words," Palin wrote.

"God Bless America," she concluded.

Sarah Palin is a moron. It should terrify anyone to have such an uneducated person in a position of power. An example; in the 2006 Alaskan gubernatorial race a series of written questions were submitted to the candidates. Here is one with Palin’s answer:

Q: Are you offended by the phrase "Under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance?

A: Not on your life. If it was good enough for the founding fathers, its good enough for me and I'll fight in defense of our Pledge of Allegiance.

Now let’s see, the founding fathers, which should include Thomas Jefferson and John Adams. Not sure if they were the last two founding fathers to die, they certainly outlived George Washington. It’s one of those strange things of history that they both died on the same day which happened to be July 4, 1826, the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. So what’s the problem? The pledge of allegiance didn’t exist then. It was written in 1892 by Francis Bellamy, an avowed socialist by the way, to commemorate the Colombian Exposition. It did not contain the words “Under God.” It was accompanied by a salute though, an outstretched arm which was changed by FDR in 1941 because it looked too much like what the Nazis did.

In the early 1950’s the Knights of Columbus added the words “Under God” to the pledge for their ceremonies. They liked and started a huge campaign to het Congress to enact a law to change the pledge, but it was consistently voted down. Only when a preacher convinced Eisenhower to back the move did it finally pass. But remember what things were like in the mid-fifties. Or if you are Sarah Palin learn your history as to what things were like then.

Give this woman a history book and send her back to junior high school where she belongs.
